VERSE OF THE DAY: Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1).
LISTEN: When the children of Israel sinned, God gave them over to their enemies and when they repented and confessed their sins He intervened. Subsequently, God through Prophet Isaiah challenged them to a positive action – ” To Arise, Shine! “. Arise, is God’s word for any one who wants to improve and live a fulfilling life to the glory of His name. To arise simply means to get up, or to come into being, or attention in other to be useful to God and humanity; that is, you should be willing and ready to wake up from your spiritual slumber and state of physical inactivity. God is our light through his Son Jesus Christ; his light shines in our hearts and the darkness of sin and evil can’t comprehend it (1 John 1:5). Therefore, if we walk in him, we have nothing again in common with darkness because we have passed from darkness to light. (1 John 2:8).
So arise, shine, for your light has come. There are so many things you can do with light: with it you can find your way in the dark, dispel darkness and fear; work with comfort, meet your daily domestic needs, etc. Similarly, the light of God ( Jesus Christ ) came to deliver us from the power and grip of darkness through the precious light of the gospel ( 2Tim. 1:10). As a child of God, you have no reason not to shine. Your life must reflect the light of God upon you because the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. I prophesy upon your life, this season, you will shine gloriously in Jesus’ name.
Finally, borrowing from Kris Ben Besten’s principles of shine, I urge you to shine in service to God and humanity. Always work at improving yourself, be purposeful in your approach to life, and endeavour to earn honest recommendation of others.
SHINE => S – Serve others,
H – Honor God
I – Improve continually
N – Navigate life purposefully by value
E – Earn recommendation
Enumerate those areas of your life that you’ve not yet awakened to reality and activity, and urgently address them today.
Blessed Father, today, I receive power and grace to shine in every area of my life and endeavour; Lord, empower me to keep shining by reason of your light in Jesus’ name, amen.
Reflection: Only the light of God can truly dispel the darkness of sin and sorrow.
