I’M NOT ALONE

Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Listen, the time is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each of you to his own home,  and you will leave me all by myself. Yet I’m not alone, because the Father is with me. – John 16:32 ( ISV ).

LISTEN : Imagine being left all by yourself by your trusted friends or loved ones at a time you needed them most. You will agree with me that it hurts. At such moments we tend to feel deserted and unloved. All hope will appear to be lost, as a result, we tend to act in frustration and often end in tragedy. However, it’s worthy of note that what we suffer sometime is not different from what our Saviour Jesus Christ went through. Prior to his death, he told his disciples what he was going to suffer and he said, ” The time is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each of you to his own home, and you will leave me all by myself. Yet I’m not alone,  because the Father is with me”( John 16 : 32 ). Truly, when Jesus Christ was arrested before his crucifixion, his disciples ran everyone to his home as predicted. So, don’t think it strange when similar things happen to you.

Beloved, what are the moral lessons of Christ’ address to his disciples in today’s verse?

1. At some point in your life you will certainly suffer loneliness. Jesus said, “…you will be scattered, each of you to his own home, and you will leave me all by myself “.
2. Friends and loved ones may not be their for you all the time. They will be handicapped because they can’t help you just like Jesus ‘ s  disciples.
3. When you’re abandoned, remember you’re not alone. Even if everyone abandon you, you can still turn to God.
4. God is by your side in your troubles. When everyone abandon you God still cares. David said, ” Even if my father and mother abandoned me, the LORD would take me in”( Psalms 27:10 ).

Friend, cheer up, God still cares.

Daily Task
Determine to be courageous in the face of loneliness because you’re not alone.

Prayer
Father of all comfort, I trust my state of loneliness in your hand, don’t allow my loneliness drive me into frustration or tragedy, I pray this in Jesus ‘ name, amen.

Reflection : Don’t allow the state of loneliness keep you from enjoying God’s gracious intervention

Prophetic Word : Today, I prophesy upon your life, angelic visitation in your state of loneliness and frustrations. Where men abandon you, God will lift you up. Where it is said that your end has come, I decree, your success has just started, in Jesus ‘ name.
