Verse Of The Day : The Law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide – Psalms 37 : 31.
LISTEN : Imagine leaving in a lawless neighbourhood or society, will you feel safe? Will the residents of the place feel protected? Of course not! Such situation will rather make people apprehensive even the most courageous person. Reasonable people will rather choose to leave such a lawless and insecure place to a safe place because, they attach great value to their lives. However, to make the society a more comfortable place for everyone the law is used as a measure of regulating people’s conducts, relationship with one another and with the government of the land. Through the law, offenders are discovered, hunted and subsequently punished; while law abiding citizens are protected.
Law abiding citizens are not ashamed to defend themselves when wrongly accused, but are rather bold because they’re guarded by the integrity of their hearts; as a result, they’re vindicated in the end. They’re careful not to get involved with anything incriminating because they know the consequences. Besides, they (law abiding citizens) are not ignorant of the law of the state.
In the same way, every child of God, the disciples of Christ are not reckless with their lives on earth, they make the law of God the principle upon which their lives operates. Because they live by integrity, faithfulness and obedience to God they’re preserved and protected. Our verse of the day said, ” The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide (Psalms 37:31). In speaking of the safety of the righteous David said, “The godly speak wise words and promotes justice”(v.30); and in verse 31 he said, ” The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide”. Beloved, in the same way, you can be protected and preserved when you submit to God; none of your steps shall slide: that is, you will neither fail nor fall.
