Verse Of The Day: And you shall serve the Lord your God and he shall bless your bread and your water, and will take sickness away from your midst – Exodus 23:25.
LISTEN : God is not just a user of people, he’s also a God that delights in blessing people. He is not just after your service and worship to him, he is equally concerned about your welfare. God is perfectly full of glory. Even when men choose not to worship him, heaven is full of praise angels who bows daily before his throne singing Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God almighty. God loves everyone of us and want to bless us. However, he wants you to be loyal to him in obedience and faithfulness so that you can experience his blessings.
In today’s verse, when God ordered Pharaoh through Moses to set his people free from their bondage in the land of Egypt, the reason why he (God ) demanded their immediate release was to go “serve Him” ( Their God ), and possess the land of Canaan for an inheritance. ( Exodus 8:1 ).
When they eventually gained their freedom from Pharaoh, God repeated the same word to them through his servant Moses, saying, ” And you shall serve the Lord your God and he shall bless your bread and your water and will take sickness away from your midst”. According to this scriptural verse, their own assignment was to serve God, be loyal to him, work for him and give themselves as vessels unto Him; while God’s responsibility towards them was to bless their food and their drinks, and take away all sicknesses and diseases from them.
Beloved, do you know that good health is a blessing from God? And that God promised to give it to those who would serve him faithfully and passionately? (Job 36:11). Here, he mentioned two known sources of sicknesses and diseases – our water and our food. What we eat or drink often results in sickness, but God said, “I will bless your food and water”. Friend, can you examine yourself today? Are you sincere in your service to God? Or is your life full of unfaithfulness towards Him?
If you can repent and serve him faithfully today, it doesn’t matter the diseases or sicknesses you’re suffering from, God will curse them, and cause you to be healed, in Jesus ‘ name.
Having heard this counsel, what are you expected to do to experience this promised healing?
1. Don’t resist worship to God, instead, Surrender yourself to him.
2. Don’t doubt the promises of God, claim it by service to Him.
3. If you’re sick presently, declare your loyalty to God and pray earnestly for healing.
4. Confess your sins and mistakes and accept God’s forgiveness.
In your service to God and man, strive to serve faithfully so that you will certainly secure a good reward.
Daily Reflection : A faithful service to God will receive the favour of a faithful God.
Almighty God, help us to serve you faithfully in all areas of our lives; in the church, family and the society at large, in Jesus’ name, amen.
Prophetic Word : Today, I prophesy upon your life, may the Lord God smile on you this season. Your labour henceforth will not be in vain. You will not bring forth for trouble. Above all, you will neither lose your good reward, nor your health to sickness, in Jesus ‘ name, amen.
