Verse Of The Day : Do not boast about tomorrow; for you do not know what a day may bring forth –  Proverbs 27 : 1

LISTEN : Boast is a cause for pride. It is a statement in which you express too much pride in yourself or in something you have, have done, or are connected to in some way. Virtually everyone is a victim of pride. Pride? Yes pride. Pride is a feeling that you’re more important or better than other people. Oh! how often people think that they’re better off than others. Many Believes that except something is done their own way it is not yet properly done. They believe that they’re the only ones that can do it well, that is a demonstration of pride.

Boasting is an everyday lifestyle in the society. Those who have better jobs, boast to those who do menial jobs for a living. Those with flashy or exotic cars, jeep, etc, brag to those who have none or less quality cars. Those who have magnificent edifice, brag to those who have smaller or less quality buildings. Those whose marriage relationships are working, boast to those whose marriage are not. Those who have children, boast to those who have none. Those who are rich, boast to those who are poor. Those who are healthy boast to those who are sickly. Those who are married brag to those who are yet single. Those who appears beautiful bodily, boast to those who appears ugly. Those who are complete and able physically, brag to those who are physically disabled. The list goes on and on.

Friend, do you think that bragging in this manner is reasonable? Do you think that our creator ( God ) is happy when we treat others with such disdain and contempt? Of course not! It is quite unreasonable to treat others in that manner; why? The bible said, ” Do not boast about tomorrow; for you do not know what a day may bring forth” ( Proverbs 27: 1 ). The future is not for you to absolutely decide, something else can happen (Luke 12:16 – 20 ). Remember,  positive change can happen to the person you taunted, criticised and condemned. So, watch what you do or say to others because the future is unknown.

Having heard this message, what are you expected to do?

1. Always remember that the future is unknown and something can twist your plans.
2. Don’t see yourself as better than others.
3. Instead of taunting and criticising others, assist them to overcome their weaknesses.
4. Give solutions to people’s problems, don’t create one for them.

Daily Task
No matter the level of your success or prosperity, don’t boast to those who are less privileged.

Daily Reflection :
Those who boast to others neglect the mercies and grace of God.

Precious Father, I accept your word, therefore, I refrain from boasting to others about my successes and achievements, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Prophetic Word :
Today, I decree upon your life, every spirit of pride and arrogance in you is arrested henceforth. I prophesy over you, grace to live to the glory of God has been released upon you, in Jesus’ name.
