Verse Of The Day : So whoever knows what is good to do and does not do it is guilty of sin – James 4 : 17
LISTEN : Does God delights in condemning anyone? Does he take pleasure in destroying those he spent time to create? Is he a God that is interested in fault finding? Are his commands to man grievous? Of course not! They ( his commands ) are all for our own good. God gave every human a conscience to know the good from the bad. We are guilty of sin when we ignore the voice of conscience and decide to act at variance with it. When we have the required knowledge but choose not to act on what we know it is an error. Our knowledge about anything is erroneous if the acquired knowledge cannot produce positive results. Friend, no one can deny being aware of the good and the bad, we’re only being stubborn to the leading of the Spirit of God through our consciences.
God has given us the ability to know what is wrong and right, so if we choose to do the wrong, it is because we choose to disobey God. When you know what is good and choose not to do it, it is a sin to you : that is, you are breaking the law of God. Beloved, many will go to hell not because of the sins they obviously committed, but because of what they failed to do. Failing to do what you should do,makes you guilty of sin. What our bible verse of the day mean is that, the ability to do good in any situation imposes on us an obligation to do it. If a man understands what his duty is, and fails to do it, he is guilty of sin before God. Are you called to be a pastor? You have a duty to feed and watch over the flock of God in your care ( Acts 20 : 28 ). Are you a parent? You are called to train your child or children as the case may be to the glory of God ( Pro. 22 : 6 ). Are you a school teacher or lecturer? Make sure you sincerely give your pupils or students the required information and knowledge that you’re hired to render. Are you an employer of labour? Present what is honourable before men and give your employees what is due them ( Matt. 10 : 10 ).
Whatever your calling is, if you fail to do it for any reason, you will account for it before God the moment you leave this world. So, whatever you know how to do, whether in the church, family and the society at large, do it to the glory of God. Remember, you may not have the opportunity anymore. Do it now or never ( Eccl. 9 : 10 ).
Having heard this message, what are you expected to do?
1. Always listen to the Spirit of God through his word.
2. Don’t ignore the voice of conscience.
3. Always remember that you will not only be judge by what you do, but also by what you failed to do
4. Always examine your conduct on morality and score yourself to know whether you’re on the right track or not.
Don’t ignore the call to do good which has been impressed upon your mind, instead, do it with the whole of your heart.
Daily Reflection : You will not only be judge by what you do, but also by what you failed to do.
Father in heaven, use me to your own glory. May I never fail in what I should do to bring glory to you, in Jesus ‘ name, amen.
Prophetic Word : Today, I decree upon your life, you will not miss out in the agenda of God. Every spirit of negligence to your responsibility, I arrest them, in Jesus ‘ name.
