Verse Of The Day: For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end – Hebrews 3:14.
LISTEN: Every sport or game have rules and its acceptable standards. In the world of athletics, football, boxing, swimming, cycling, driving, racing, etc, there’re rules, and if violated ends in disqualification of the person involved. Similarly, the Christian race is not without rules and standards (1 Cor. 9:24-25). Our verse of the today said, “For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end”. What does that mean? it means that the rewards for the christian race are kept only for those who will make it to the end. It is reserved for those who in spite of their earthly travail held unto their conviction in Christ.
Beloved, God wants you to have faith in Christ till the end. Don’t quit following him because of trials and sufferings associated with the christian faith: remember, as we share in the suffering of Christ, we shall also share in his blessedness and honour in the world to come. If we continue to maintain the fervor of our conviction in Christ from start to finish we won’t regret at His coming (1 Peter 4:13).
Unfortunately, many who were once devoted to God have suddenly lost their zeal. Beloved, do you remember sometimes in the past when you were jobless, childless, single, unpopular, heartbroken, sick, afflicted, confused and frustrated, helpless, defeated by the enemy, etc,? But you prayed and trusted God to help you and He did? Why have you decided to abandon your faith because of trials and tribulations? Why have you chosen to forsake God who saw you through when you were in trouble? Have you again decided to go back to the world where you once came out from? What will it profit you if you gain this life and lose your precious soul in hell? (Matt. 16:26). Beloved, revive your zeal for God today no matter what and He will see through to the end.
Having read today’s devotional message, what are you expected to do?
1. Be careful not to run the christian race in vain
2. Regularly examine yourself whether you’re still in the faith.
3. Don’t allow the pressures of this life pull you out from God.
Always be conscious of the fact that your Christian journey does not end here, therefore, intensify your effort to make it to the end.
Daily Reflection : The reward for serving God is worth our present sufferings. Therefore, press on!
LORD, I want to make my Christian life and journey to the end. Therefore, put away all obstacles to this glorious intention, in Jesus’ name.
Prophetic Word : Today, I prophesy upon your life grace to finish well. You will not end like Judas Iscariot, you will fulfill your God-given purpose, in Jesus ‘ name.
