Verse of the Day: Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear – Isaiah 59:1-2 (KJV).

LISTEN: Can anything hinder my prayer? If yes, is there anything I should do to overcome the hinderance? Yes there is. You should first of all realise that our major source of hinderance to prayer is sin. Sin is a barrier that must be destroyed to access God’s fullness. God is always, and ever ready to help us in our times of trouble and calamities as we call on him; but the devil uses every occasion of our unfaithfulness (sin) to God to stop Him from giving ears to our prayers.
Sin hinders our prayers and make us less than what God intends for us to be. Many Christians today are more attached to the world and its system than they’re to God. The Bible said, “Friendship with the world is enmity with God” (James 4:4). So you can’t be a friend of the world and its corrupt nature and expect God to hear you.

However, it is not that all unanswered prayers are the result of sin. It could be that God may be asking you to wait for the right time. But if your conscience convicts you of sin today, it is because God wants you to get rid of it and enjoy a sweet fellowship with Him. Do the following things and you will be back again into fellowship with God:
> Confess your sin to Him (1 John 1 : 9).
> Repent of your sins
> Forsake your sins
> Start confessing Christ
> Pray and study the word of God, and
> Constantly fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10: 25).

Having read today’s devotional message, what are you expected to do?
1. Deal with the presence of sin in your life.
2. Always listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
3. Earnestly pray and ask God to help you deal with sin in your life.
