Verse Of The Day: The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it – Proverbs 10:22

LISTEN: Right blessing? I know you may be wondering what that means. It is the blessing of the LORD that comes with no sorrow. You may ask, can blessing be said to bring sorrow? Is it possible to be in blessing and experience sorrow therefrom? Yes it is possible. If the blessing of God can make rich and come with no sorrow, it means that there is such thing as the blessing of the devil which inevitably come with sorrow. Though such “blessing” could also make rich, but comes with countless troubles and sorrows.

It is good to be blessed by the Lord God because, whatever we receive in the way of providence has God’s blessing in them and will do us good. In contrast, worries, troubles, regrets and difficulties comes with all acquisition not gotten in this way; but God’s blessing gives simple enjoyment and levies no tax upon the comfort.

The blessing of the Lord requires simple obedience and faith in God to receive. God said to Abraham, “Go out from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household to the land that I will show you. Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, so that you will exemplify divine blessing” (Genesis 12:1-2). Abraham promptly obeyed God and was blessed in return for his faith in Him. God rewarded Abraham’s obedience and the bible said, “And Abram was very rich in cattle, silver and in gold” (Genesis 13:2). Above all, he received the promise of God with his descendants.

Beloved, don’t be in a hurry, wait for the blessing of God. Don’t hurry into the so-called “blessing” of the devil through money ritual, extortion, theft, robbery, etc. Remember, whatever you acquire from the devil will certainly hurt and haunt you in the end. Beware! (Proverbs 20:17).

Having read today’s devotional message, what are you expected to do?
1. Don’t run to the devil for help.
2. Develop yourself to endure temptations.
3. Seek the blessing of God.

Daily Task
Don’t take a shortcut to riches and prosperity, rather determine to follow God’s will.

Daily Reflection : The devil can’t give you anything “good” that he can’t take back to cause you pain. Beware!

LORD God, may I not hurry to the blessings that bring sorrows and troubles with it, but your blessing that can truly make rich in Jesus ‘ name, amen.

Prophetic Word : Today, I prophesy upon your life, you will not be deceived into the devil’s way of acquiring wealth. God will guide you in the right path to his blessing in Jesus ‘ name.
