Verse Of The Day: And he saith unto them follow me and I will make you fishers of men – Matt. 4:19

LISTEN: Not too long Jesus Christ ended his forty days fast in the wilderness that he began his earthly ministry in earnest. His first encounter was with two brothers at the sea of Galilee, Simon called Peter and Andrew his brother as they were doing their normal fishing business on the sea, for they were fishermen. The moment Jesus met them he said to them, “follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (v.19). He wasn’t just calling them to change their business, but to train them in winning souls for the kingdom of God

Subsequently, Jesus Christ transformed them into useful instruments for the kingdom purpose agenda. Christ both made them earthly and heavenly useful. He made their relevance to transcend to eternity. He made them soul winners; not just soul winners, but desperate soul winners who understood that the time is too short and sinners must be saved.

Beloved, since you became a follower of Christ, have you won a soul to him? If not, what are you waiting for? Remember that you’re called to be a preacher of the gospel; and your business should be to win souls into the kingdom of God. Do you know what it means to follow Christ? It means the following:
> To follow him as your teacher and Saviour.
> To take him as your example
> To take him as your friend
> To take and believe him as your rewarded.

Beloved, always remember that your labour in Christ can never be in vain (Heb. 6:10), so be serious in the service of God. Don’t allow trials and tribulations in the way of the gospel to deter you from following Christ and saving souls with him. Press on!
