Verse Of The Day : There are many plans in a person’s mind, but it is the counsel of the LORD which will stand. – Proverbs 19 : 21 (NET)
LISTEN : As human beings with the ability to think rationally, we make wonderful plans for ourselves for a better future. Some of these plans are about civil things; to get wealth and riches: to obtain honour and glory among men; to attain to a long life, and to perpetuate our memories after death: some are about sinful things; to gratify our carnal lusts and sensual appetites; and to do mischief to others, particularly the people of God, and the cause and interest of Christ.
Besides, some of these plans are about religious things such as bringing new doctrines, devising new ordinances and modes of worship; inventing or concocting other methods of salvation than by Christ; as by the light of nature; by the law of Moses; by mere morality, civility, and external justice between man and man; by keeping to the religion they were born and brought up in; and by a mere outward profession of religion, and submission to ordinances and performance of duties, etc.
However, all these plans of ours are subject to God’s supreme plan. The bible said, “The counsel of the Lord, that shall stand” (Proverbs 19:21). His plan can never be frustrated by the plans of man (Ps 33:10). We should learn to seek His face in our plans and allow Him to order our steps and establish our plans (Psalms 37:5 ; Proverbs 16:3). He is the source and the fruit of infinite wisdom and full of the best advice and instructions to the sons of men. Today, men have risen against the plans of God for His people and His church. Beloved, the plan of God for your life shall stand, notwithstanding the persecutions and devices of wicked men against you. Moreover, in spite of the hostility against the gospel and the Churches of Christ all over the world, all the purposes of God will be fulfilled; his designs will be accomplished in the world and in his church; in spite of all the schemes, contrivances, and opposition of men and devils.
