Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day :  While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4 : 18

LISTEN : The encouragement we received yesterday from the part one of this topic was “to live by faith and not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5 : 7). In your walk of faith,if you don’t guard against what you see in this world by the word of God, you’ll be forced to believe the lies of the devil. No person is exempt from challenges or trials. Christians and non-christians alike have their own fair share of the ordeals. However, we’re urged to live by faith. To live by faith is not to pretend that your challenges or trials doesn’t exist; neither is it to deny the reality of your challenges or trials, but it’s to change the fact of such ordeals. What does that mean?

When a jobless or sick person is walking by faith, With faith he or she can confidently say, I don’t deny the fact that I don’t have a job, but I believe in the change of that status: I don’t deny the fact that I’m sick and weak, but I believe that the situation can be reverse. Whatever your situation is, living by faith is not to pretend or deny that you don’t have such case or cases as the case may be: but it’s to believe and constantly confess that your situation can’t resist divine intervention.

Living by faith is a choice, and you should make that choice! To succeed in this world of violence, wickedness, uprising atrocities, etc, you must equip yourself with the ‘shield’ of faith. You must determine to be strong and courageous and not allow yourself to sink because of heartbreaking news and circumstances that comes around you daily. In today’s bible verse, Apostle Paul said, ” While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”( 2 Corinthians 4 : 18). Beloved, set your mind on eternity, don’t drift away because of challenges. Whatever you’re going through now is just temporal. Very soon, the change you yearn for will come.

Having read today’s devotional, what are you expected to do?
1. Be challenged to the life of faith.
2. Don’t be overwhelmed by temporal influences, but by the eternal.
3. Always encourage yourself in the LORD and don’t despair in the face of trials and tribulations.

Daily Task : Keep the battle of faith fresh every day and determine to always come out victorious.

Daily Reflection : The Christian life has no alternative to faith, without faith you’re faking it and headed for failure.

Prayer : Heavenly Father, today I have made the decision to live by faith, help me to overcome my challenges and trials in Jesus ‘ name, amen.

Prophetic Word : Today, I prophesy over your life, every trial or situation that has been designed to pull you out of the faith I cancel it. And I decree that you’ll walk by faith in Jesus ‘ name.
