Verse Of The Day : You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.- Jeremiah 29 : 13 (ISV)

LISTEN : Many struggles today with finding God because they haven’t search for Him with the whole of their hearts. The day they’ll begin a diligent search for Him they’ll certainly find him because he had already declared himself findable by serious finders. To find God you must be serious by intensifying your efforts in your quest to discover Him (2 Chronicles 31 : 21 ; Psalms 119:2). Many of us today still share in the skeptic and unfaithful lifestyles of the Israelites in Prophet Jeremiah’s day. Many of them were just verbal doers, whose believe in God ends in their lips. They disbelieved and opposed Jeremiah’s ministry and never believed that Judah will someday be invaded and the inhabitants taken away by Babylonians.

The Israelites, the people of Judah pretended not to feel the absence of God in their midst, hence they refused to believe the predictions of Jeremiah who had repeatedly warned them of impending doom. But just as he had predicted, the Babylonians invaded Jerusalem and humiliated them and took them away to Babylon. However, when they cried to God from Babylon after several years in captivity he forgave them and brought back the remnants to Jerusalem. They were able to find God because they sought for him with all their hearts.

In the same way, when you seek God with the whole of your heart in prayer, or in repentance you’ll discover him. Look for him as someone who’s anxiously looking for a missing object of value. Can you recall in the past when you lost something that you were desperate to recover? Perhaps your phone, school certificate, a loved one, a reasonable amount of money, your marriage, job, etc; you’ll believe with me that you conducted your search with your whole heart. You weren’t relieved until you found the lost object. Similarly. if you search for the Lord with such serious – mindedness you’ll inevitably find him because he is findable.

Having read today’s devotional, what are you expected to do?
1. Don’t relent in your search for the fullness of God.
2. Like the inhabitants of Judah, remember from where you have fallen and return to God in repentance.
3. Stop at nothing to discover God. Make the search for God a life-long project.

Daily Task : Search for God with the whole of your heart as someone who’s anxiously searching for a missing object of value and you’ll find Him.

Daily Reflection : The day you begin a diligent search for God is the day you’ve made the decision to discover Him.

Prayer : Heavenly Father, I acknowledge your love for me, therefore, I’ve determined today to search for you with the whole of my heart in Jesus ‘ name, amen.

Prophetic Word : Today, I prophesy over your life, grace to search for the LORD with your whole heart unhindered in Jesus Christ ‘ name.
