Verse Of The Day : Truly, the Lord’s hand has not become short, so that he is unable to give salvation; and his ear is not shut from hearing: But your sins have come between you and your God, and by your evil doings his face has been veiled from you, so that he will give you no answer. – Isaiah 59 : 1-2 (BBE).

LISTEN: Imagine yourself going to ask for a favour from your “sworn enemy”, do you see yourself coming back with positive result? of course not! He or she won’t give you the needed attention let alone grant your request. In the same way, we often encounter hinderances to our request to God because of sin. Sin makes us enemies of God. Sin is a barrier that must be destroyed to access God’s fullness. God is always, and ever ready to help us in our times of trouble and calamities as we call on him; but the devil will always use every occasion of our unfaithfulness ( sin ) to God to keep Him from giving ears to our prayers.

Sin hinders our prayers and makes us far less than what God intends for us to be. Many Christians today are more attached to the world and its system than they’re to God. Obviously, the word of God disapproves of such lifestyle and said, ” Friendship with the world is enmity with God ” ( James 4 : 4 ). This simply means that, you can’t be a friend of the world and its carnal nature and expect God to hear you. Notice that all unanswered prayers are not because of sin. Sometimes it could be that God is asking you to wait for the right time or a little longer, or completely saying “No” to your request for your own interest. Whatever his reply is to our request we should trust his judgment. However, if your conscience convicts you of sin, it is because God wants you to get rid of it and enjoy a sweet fellowship with Him. Henceforth, let’s not be comfortable with sin and the LORD will hear us.

Having read today’s devotional, what are you expected to do?
1. Confess your sins to God and repent of them.
2. Having repented of your sins don’t go back to them.
3. Begin to confess Christ Jesus.
4. Pray and study the word of God and meditate on it.
5. Begin to fellowship with other believers.

Daily Task : If your conscience convicts you of sin, it is because God wants you to get rid of it and enjoy a sweet fellowship with Him. Today, don’t hesitate to make amends.

Daily Reflection : God doesn’t want you to hurt yourself, that’s why he’s warning, ” sin not!”

Prayer : Precious Father, I ask for grace to live righteously in this world of wickedness in Jesus Christ’ name, amen.

Prophetic Word : Today, I prophesy upon your life, every yoke of sin over you is broken forthwith in Jesus ‘ name.
