BUILD THE SOCIETY BY BUILDING YOUR HOME

Verse Of The Day : Every wise woman builds her house: but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.- Proverbs 14 : 1 (UKJV).

LISTEN : A family will rise or fall by the attitudes and disposition of its members. Similarly, villages, towns, clans, tribes, nations, etc rises and falls on the kind of attitudes, conducts and lifestyles adopted by the people that dwells in them. Ours is a generation that shows no concern for the spiritual state of children; we’re glad and eager to give our children the best of academic education and good foods, but we allowed them to decay daily in moral and spiritual standard because, that aspect of their lives is neglected. Unfortunately, we fails to realise that we’re doing that to the detriment of the society at large. When bad elements infiltrate the society, life will certainly be miserable for everyone. A society that’s largely inhabited by selfish, greedy, or wicked people, can never produce lasting peace and development for the people. However, this trend can change if everyone can work on his or her attitude and conduct towards life generally. To excel as a family, village, nation, etc, we should reject foolishness but pursue wisdom. We should reject selfishness but pursue selflessness; we should reject hate and war but pursue love and peace. Ultimately, we should reject wickedness but follow goodness and godliness.

With wisdom we can achieve that and act wisely like the wise woman spoken about in our verse of the day. She builds her house by her prudent and industrious management, increases property in the family, furniture in the house, and food and clothing for her household. This is the true building of a house, family, or the nation. But the thriftless wife, person, leader, etc acts differently, and the opposite is the result. That’s, everything will get bad in the hands of he that is a fool, lives will be shattered and miserable; wealth will not increase, household will be ill-fed, ill-clothed, and worse educated (Proverbs 1:7, 32; 3:35).

Let’s all in our various capacities work to prudent economy; looking well to the ways of our household and nation; guiding the affairs of our house and nation with discretion; keeping all things in a good decorum; and above all, bringing up our children in virtue, and in the fear and admonition of the Lord by means of the ministry of the word of God. Today, let’s invest in our children spiritually, physically, morally and academically for the future we want to see them make. Let’s consciously build our homes and we would have built the nation, and the society will be a better place for everyone.

<<Having read today’s devotional, what are you expected to do?

1.  Invest quality time and effort in building your home for a blessed future.
2.  Stop complaining about the badness of the society, work towards its rehabilitation in your own capacity.
3.  Examine yourself and ask this question: Are my actions encouraging or discouraging evil in my family and society? And make amends where necessary as quickly as possible.
4. Don’t leave the future of your household or the society to chance, in your own little way, encourage the good and discourage the bad.

Daily Task : Today, let’s invest in our children spiritually, physically, morally and academically for the future we want to see them make. Let’s consciously build our homes and the society will be a better place for everyone.

Daily Reflection : Everything will certainly get bad in the hands of a fool. Lives will be shattered and miserable; wealth will not increase, household will be ill-fed, ill-clothed, and worse educated. Beware!

Prayer : Heavenly Father, I ask for grace to build my home to the glory of your name in Jesus ‘ name, amen.

Prophetic Word : Today, I prophesy over your life, you’ll neither disappoint God as a parent, nor as a person; rather you’ll serve His purpose in Jesus ‘ name.
