GROW IN GRACE AND THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST

Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.- 2 Peter 3 : 18 (UKJV).

LISTEN : The believer in Christ, like a living organism is designed to grow and not to be dormant or stagnant in the knowledge and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Any believer in Christ who is indifferent about spiritual growth and knowledge of Christ have no business with the LORD and his cause. As a genuine child of God, growth is not an option but a must. You should not be satisfied with your level of growth in Christ, just continue to grow in grace and knowledge of Christ. As great as Apostle Paul was, a man that was endowed with spiritual understanding, knowledge and wisdom in Christ Jesus, he still hungered for more of Christ. In Philippians 3 : 10 he exclaimed, ” That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings…!” Beloved, as christians we have no choice but to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. The bible said, ” But grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.” That’s, to grow increasingly in grace of the image and favour of God. Christ wants us to look like him and to grow daily in his divine image and nature; and to know him more and more each day.

Beloved, every grace and Divine influence which you have received is a seed, a heavenly seed, which, if it be watered with the dew of heaven from above, will endlessly increase and multiply itself. He who continues to believe, love, and obey, will grow in grace, and continually increase in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, as his sacrifice, sanctifier, counsellor, preserver, and final Saviour. The life of a Christian is a growth; he is at first born of God, is become, and received as a little child; becomes a young man in the LORD, and then a father in Christ. Remember, every father was once an infant; and had he not grown, he would have never been a man. Similarly, those who content themselves with the grace they received when converted to God, are, at best, in a continual state of infancy: but we find, in the order of nature, that the infant that does not grow, and grow daily, too, is sickly and soon dies; so, in the order of grace, those who do not grow up into Jesus Christ are sickly, and will soon die, die to all sense and influence of heavenly things. Beloved, strive to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ and you’ll never be dormant, stagnant, or bankrupt of divine abilities.
