THE RAIN OF BLESSING

Verse Of The Day : The LORD shall open unto you his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto your land in his season, and to bless all the work of your hand: and you shall lend unto many nations, and you shall not borrow.- Deuteronomy 28:12

LISTEN : God takes delight in the prosperity of his people (Psalms 35: 27). That means, when his people prospers he’s happy. God is a good God and he owns everything and everyone. Our God is not a poor God, but a God that’s clothed with riches, honour and glory. The earth and all that lives in it belongs to him (Psalms 24 : 1). His blessings are designed for his obedient children. Those who’re ready and willing to obey him doesn’t beg for his blessing, he blesses them naturally because obedience to him comes with that package. God has a treasure that’s too rich for the entire world to accommodate. Moses in relating the command of the Lord to the Israelites, assured them of God’s unmatchable blessing if they obey him. He said, “The Lord shall open unto you his good treasure.” The Lord has his treasures of snow and of hail, and of wind, but here his good treasure, is his treasure of rain. The heaven, to give the rain unto our land in its season; that is, he will open the heaven, where his good treasure of rain is laid up, and bring it forth to enrich it as he did the land of Canaan; or will open the windows thereof, and pour down the blessing; and that at the proper time, both in autumn and spring, that’s the former, and the latter rain.

He promises to bless all the works of our hands as he promised the Israelites; in agriculture, for without the blessing of rain, all the labour of farmers would be in vain or to little purpose. Above all, he promised to bless us so we can be a blessing to others when he said, “and you shall lend unto many nations, and you shall not borrow.” Beloved, we borrow because we don’t have enough, but when the Lord opens his great treasures, he blesses us with more than enough, and there will be no more need to borrow to survive. However, this blessing comes with a price – obedience to God. If you can pay the price of obedience, God will grant you the desires of your heart. This season, the Lord will bless you with more than enough in Jesus ‘ name.

Having read today’s devotional, what are you expected to do?
1. Don’t limit yourself only to what man can give, rather enlarge yourself with the blessings of God.
2. Don’t cheat to prosper, work and obey God to succeed.
3. Always pray for God to remember you through the works of your hand and favour.
4. Don’t forget that whatever you have you owe it to God, therefore learn to serve God with what you have.

Daily Reflection : Our God is not a poor God, but a great God that’s clothed with riches, honour and glory.
