Verse Of The Day : I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.- Galatians 2 : 20.

LISTEN : Whose control are you under? God’s, yours, or Satan’s? No doubt, many christians have accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour, but haven’t completely given up the control of their lives to Him. Hitherto, they’re still in charge of their lives, steering their lives with no regard to God’s directives and will. Jesus Christ is their Saviour though, but not the LORD of their lives. They go to church, fellowship with brethren and hear the word of God, but their lives are still driven by the world ungodly beliefs and propensities. To such, the christian faith doesn’t matter much but their personal interests; they’re willing to accept Christ as their Saviour, but not ready to ‘carry their crosses to follow Him (Matthew 10 : 38).’ Beloved, are you a child of God? One purchased with the precious blood of Christ? If yes, who’s in control of your life? God, satan, or yourself? A simple test will prove to you who’s in charge of your life. When you want to make critical decisions, whose counsel or instructions do you follow? And whose do you ignore or discard? If it’s not God’s counsel that you follow, that means that your allegiance isn’t with Him. In our verse of the day, Apostle Paul made a reflective and notable comments; he said, “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live (Galatians 5 : 24), but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2 : 20). Immediately he converted to Christianity, he [Paul] lived the rest of his life in line with the will of God because he surrendered all to Him.

Apostle Paul expressed the truth about his new nature in Christ and affirmed that the death of Christ on the cross has showed him that there is no hope of salvation by the law or himself; he admitted that he was therefore as truly dead to all expectation of justification by the law, as Christ was dead when he gave up the ghost upon the cross. He stated categorically that through Christ alone he lived and enjoyed his life, and equally had a prospect of future glory. He continued that it wasn’t of his natural life that he spoke about, nor of any spiritual things which himself have procured; but just Christ who lived in him. Beloved, God made man to be a habitation of his own Spirit: There’s nothing else that can give us a Divine life; nothing else animates, but they rather kills; only the resurrected and glorified Christ lives in us just as He lived in Paul; He’s the soul of our soul; so that we now live to God not to self. Like Apostle Paul, we should express the source and nature of our new life. He [Apostle Paul] further stated that the life he had by the faith of the Son of God Jesus Christ was by believing on Him as a sacrifice for sin; for he loved him, and because he did so, he gave himself for us all a sacrifice unto death, that we might be saved from the bitter pains of eternal death. What a compassionate and merciful Saviour? Once again, whose control are you under? Beloved, may you surrender the control of your life completely to God, in Jesus ‘ name.

Having read today’s devotional, what are you expected to do?
1. Don’t resist God by denying Him the control of your life, rather surrender completely to Him.
2. If you’re really a child of God, show it by allowing the Holy Spirit influence your decisions and choices.
3. Never reserve any part of your life as exclusive to yourself, rather, lay it obediently at the ‘feet’ of Christ.
4. If you still find yourself resisting God as regard the control of your life, pray fervently for Divine help to enable you surrender to God.

Daily Task : Don’t just accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour and reject Him as the LORD of your life; rather accept Him as both.

Daily Reflection : There’s nothing else that can give us a Divine life; nothing else animates, only the resurrected and glorified Christ lives in us just the same way He lived in Paul; He’s the soul of our soul and all in all.

Prayer : Blessed Father, I surrender to You today the control of my life; henceforth, whatever I do, may it reflect your will in Jesus’ name, amen.

Prophetic Word :Today, I prophesy over your life, God will give you the grace to live for Him; receive His blessings and completely surrender the control of your life to Him, in Jesus Christ ‘ name.
