Verse Of The Day : Brethren, pray for us.- 1 Thesselonians 5 : 25 (KJV).

LISTEN : Is it out of place for a pastor or minister of the gospel to ask for prayer? Is it a sign of spiritual weakness or faithlessness for pastors to request to be prayed for? Of course not! Every christian ought to pray for his or her pastor(s) and for all pastors all over the world. Because gospel ministers proclaims the gospel of salvation, thereby depopulating the kingdom of Satan and populating the kingdom of God; the devil cannot be happy because he wants the human race to be eternally destroyed. Satan because of this evil agenda, always launch sustained attacks on ministers of the gospel, like he did in the cases of Apostle James and Peter. When the devil used king Herod in an attempt to destroy the church, he arrested James, and subsequently beheaded him. Having ended with James, he extended his execution mandate to Apostle Peter, but this time the church prayed fervently and passionately for a divine intervention, thankfully, God intervened and granted Peter a miraculous release (Acts 12 : 5-10). Beloved, have you been praying for your pastors lately, or you have left it entirely in the hands of the ‘more spiritual’ people? If Jesus Christ can request the participation of others in prayer, pastors can.

The bible recorded the following about Jesus Christ few hours before his crucifixion, “And he takes with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; And says unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry all of you here, and watch. And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto you; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what you will. And he comes, and finds them sleeping, and says unto Peter, Simon, sleep you? could not you watch one hour?”(Mark 14 : 33- 37 UKJV). Jesus Christ had been praying alone since the beginning of his earthly ministry. The bible holds records of his time alone with the Father, but this time he needed the participation of others to intercede for him. Beloved, is God prompting you to pray for your pastor or other pastors, and you think because they are pastors they can handle there challenges? Not so, they need your prayers. In our verse of the day Apostle Paul said, ” Brethren, pray for us”(1Thesselonians 5 : 25). Ministers of the gospel, on a daily basis are faced with countless challenges, ranging from ministerial to personal challenges that comes with life; hence should be prayed for, both for the success of the gospel and their personal lives; so that their lives will bring glory to God through the furtherance of the gospel (Also see Romans 15 : 30; 2 Corinthians 1 : 11; Philippians 1 : 19; Colosians 4 : 3).
