Verse Of The Day : But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.- 2 Corinthians 8 : 16

LISTEN : Anytime there is a call to support the work of God, most people tend to hesitate. They first consider their bills and every other thing before they can consider the work of God with their leftover of time, talents and money. God should be accorded the honour He deserves in your life. He owns you and everything you claim to possess. Our lives come from Him, and whatever we have is because we have life. Without life, whatever we have become another’s. In death, the ownership of what we claim to have is completely and compulsorily transfer to others. Therefore, we should serve God and humanity with what we have while we live. Such sacrifice is good and pleasing to God. It is a good thing to support the work of God. Good works brings glory to God. Good works done to others, especially to support the work of God and to bring relief to suffering saints, is a sacrifice pleasing to Him.

Are you spending your life in the Lord’s work or doing otherwise? Can God be proud of you for living a generous, liberal and caring life for the sake of His kingdom? Can people from within and without attest to your generosity and act of charity? Can the church of God offer thanksgiving to God because of your good works toward others and the kingdom advancement? Beloved, can people look up, and give thanks to God for what you are? Can they also look back, and give thanks to God for what you were? Certainly, God will be praised for your life, if people, especially the church can look up and back and discover some noticeable contributions from you to humanity and kingdom projects and programmes. Not many people feel the pains of others. Many are not bothered with the sufferings and anguish of others, they rather allow others to sort themselves out even when it is in their power to help. Beloved, do not forget that God wants you to be at His work. He wants you to support the weak and the needy. He wants you to assist suffering members of His family (the church) here on earth. He wants you to support the gospel of Christ with your money, time and talents. Whoever you are, endeavour to be part of what God is doing in the world today.(see Ezra 7 : 27; Nehemiah 2 : 12; Colosians 3 : 17).

Do not hesitate to support a good cause locally and internationally if you can, that is what God wants you to do. Beloved, you are blessed to be a blessing. We should work and challenge others to work for the good of others and the kingdom of God. In our verse of the day, Apostle Paul, praised God for the passion and zeal in the life of Titus, who made at Corinth an extraordinary collection for the poor Christians that were in Judea. The sufferings of the brethren in Judea became Titus’s concern that he persuaded and encouraged the brethren in Corinth to contribute generously in this business to ease the burdens of the poor brethren in Judea. Beloved, how passionate and compassionate are you about the welfare of others? Can you gladly serve with what the LORD has blessed you with? Henceforth, hesitate no more, rather serve with your time, talents and treasures to the glory of God.

Having read today’s devotional, what are you expected to do?
1. Don’t allow selfishness and self-centeredness to keep you from supporting a good cause.
2. Don’t limit your moral or financial support to your locality, rather extend it beyond the shores of your country.
3. Always give willingly to the cause of the gospel of Christ and you will not regret it.
4. Don’t cease to be generous, caring and compassionate, always remember that you will reap what you sow.

Daily Task : Learn to be compassionate toward others. Endeavour to gladly serve with what the LORD has blessed you with. Hesitate no more, rather serve with your time, talents and treasures.

Daily Reflection : Without life, whatever we have become another’s. In death, the ownership of what we claim to have is completely and compulsorily transfer to others. Therefore, we should serve God and humanity with our possessions while we live.

Prophetic Word : Today, I prophesy over your life, as you continue to support the work of God and the welfare of others, may God release upon you uncommon favour in Jesus ‘ name.
