Verse Of The Day : God has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs unto God.- Psalms 62 : 11
LISTEN : God is called omnipotent, because He is the most powerful. He has unlimited power and authority. Truly, power belongs to God. He is the Almighty, the origin of power. Power is God’s prerogative; and consequently all creatures, either against or without God, are poor and impotent. Man cannot be entirely trusted without certain disappointment, because human strength is limited, only God alone is fit to be trusted because His authority is unlimited. The strength which we need – the ability to defend and to save ourselves can only be found in God. All else may fail, but the power of God will not fail. God’s almightiness and faithfulness should cause us to put our trust in Him alone. In our verse of the day, the Psalmist spake of God’s law to Israel through Moses. God gave His law and two things were declared – that power belongs to Him; and that He is the Fountain of mercy. These two grand truths are the revelations of God in the law.
Beloved, do you know that all kinds of power belong to God? We do not have power of our own without God. Our physical, intellectual and moral power all belongs to God Almighty (Psalms 68 : 34 , 35). As He is powerful, He is equally merciful. His kindness is as great as His power, it is His kindness that empowers and moves His Omnipotent Arm. However, until you surrender fully to Him, you can neither discover nor experience His power. Beloved, have you surrendered your life to God? Are you open to His word? When He speaks, how does it sound in your ear? How receptive are you to His word? Besides, are you trusting in the power of God or something else? Have you not heard that with Him nothing shall be impossible? Are you in need of strength? Trust the LORD to empower you. The bible says, “Let the weak say I am strong” (Joel 3 : 10). Obviously, power belongs to God, therefore, He can help your weaknesses. He can help out in your academic failure, health problems, intellectual inabilities, business failure, career failure, marital problems, financial failure, etc. Beloved, God is the source of real power, trust Him and you will not be put to shame.
Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Acknowledge God as the origin of power and trust Him to help your weaknesses.
2. Honour God with your actions and expect Him to honour you with His mercies.
3. Highly esteem the word of God and allow God to direct your steps.
4. Cast your cares to the LORD and trust Him to see you through your challenges.

Daily Reflection : God is the origin of power, power is His prerogative; and consequently all creatures, either against or without God, are poor and impotent.
