Verse Of The Day : Finally then, brothers and sisters, we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us about how you must live and please God (as you are in fact living) that you do so more and more.- 1Thesselonians 4 : 1
LISTEN : Are you among those who believe and often complain that God is difficult to appease or satisfy? That His laws are many and grievous? That it does not matter how you try you cannot come close to fulfilling His will? Beloved, these are all lies from the pit of hell designed to manipulate your life and ruin your eternal destiny. Believe these lies and you are doomed forever, disregard them and you will save yourself from eternal destruction. God had clearly told us what we should do to please Him, it does not take money or fortune to achieve that; it only takes something different which we can readily afford if we mean to. What we need to please God is faith. Faith? Yes, Faith! The bible defined Faith thus: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11 : 1 KJV). This simply means that, faith is being sure of what we hope for, and being convinced of what we do not see. Beloved, If we believe God, we can be completely sure about things. Besides, we will be sure about the things that we hope for and sure about things that we cannot see. In short, Faith is trust, assurance and confidence in God. Living faith is shown by service and obedience to God. Our faith will grow when we believe God. He will increase our faith if we fervently ask and draw close to Him.
The problem that most people have is that they do not believe in the existence of God. Many others who believe in His existence, does not completely put their trust and confidence in Him. Beloved, anyone who fails the test of faith, has failed the test of God and cannot please Him. Hebrews 11 : 6 says, ” Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11 : 6). Friend, can you now see why many people often complain about not being able to please God? It is because they came not by faith. Why we listen to, or read God’s word or gospel-related books is to grow our faith. Building your faith in God is your responsibility (Romans 10 : 17), and when you fail to do that you will grow in unbelief and cannot please God no matter what you do. Therefore, we should make effort to live in line with the word of God. Our verse of the day says, ” Finally then, brothers and sisters, we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us about how you must live and please God, as you are in fact living, that you do so more and more.”(1Thesselonians 4 : 1). Beloved, let us strive to live according to the word of God and to please Him as long as we live.
