Verse Of The Day : I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.- Psalms 104 : 33 – 34
LISTEN : We cannot thank God enough. We cannot praise Him enough for all that He has done for us. If we can sincerely reflect on His goodness, we cannot help but continue to offer praises to Him endlessly for His kindness towards us. Unfortunately, many people hesitate to praise the LORD because they felt that there is nothing in their lives to thank God for. Rather than thank God for the gift of life, they murmur and complain about what life has denied them. They complain about miseries and misfortunes of their lives instead of God’s grace and goodness towards them. The childless murmur and complain about their childlessness, the sick complain about their ill health, the poor complain about their poverty and miseries; the jobless complain about joblessness, the single complain about Singleness; the list appears to be endless. Everyone seem to complain about something, as a result, the spirit of gratitude is neglected and relegated to the background.
No one seems to remember the goodness of God anymore, but should we treat the goodness of God with such disdain? Should we bother ourselves about what we do not have instead of praising God for what we have? Should we be so ungrateful to God not to reciprocate His love for us? Beloved, if you sincerely consider the love and goodness of God toward you, you will not cease to praise and appreciate Him for all He has done in your life. (Psalms 63: 3 ; 47: 7). Because of the Lord’s goodness David said, ” I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD. (Psalms 104 : 33 – 34). Because David was wise, he made the decision to offer praise to God throughout his lifetime. However, he knew that he cannot achieve that unless he engaged his mind. He meditated on the LORD’s goodness. To be able to praise God we must first think well of Him. That was why he said, ” My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.”(v. 34). Beloved, if you think well of God and delight in Him, you will not cease to praise and serve Him. So let us arise from all forms of insensitivity to God’s goodness and praise Him no matter what. Praise Him endlessly, for praises look so good on Him. (Psalms 22 : 3).
