Verse Of The Day: The blessing of the Lord, it makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it – Proverbs 10:22 (UKJV).
LISTEN: Today’s verse of the day talks about the blessing of the Lord; that is, something good and desirable that comes from God to us; the favour of God that is designed to bless and cause us to prosper. God’s greatest blessing to mankind is His Son Jesus Christ. Besides Christ, God’s blessing abounds for the obedient and faithful. The blessing of the Lord is not the same as the devil’s “blessing” . Beloved, if there is anything as the blessing of the Lord it means that there are other kinds of “blessings” that are not of God. Unfortunately, many seek after such “blessings” and disregard the blessing of God which has the potency to really bless. People are desperate to succeed and prosper, it doesn’t matter how. That is why many kill, maim, cheat, oppress, marginalise and hurt others to achieve the so-called blessing at the expense of their souls. Obviously, any “blessing” which is not from God almighty is certainly not a blessing at all; and will certainly attract divine curse.
I’m sure you do not want to be part of a curse, for any “blessing” without God’s seal on it is a curse in disguise. Do not be in a hurry for God is eager to bless you. He is happy when you live in prosperity ( Psalms 35 : 27 ). However, your prosperity should not be at the expense of others or your soul. In your prosperity, you should remember to honour Him as the giver of all good gifts (James 1:17) , and to serve others with it to the glory of His name. (Galatians 6:10). In today’s verse, the bible said that true blessing comes from the Lord. The beauty of the blessing of the Lord is that it adds no sorrow with it.
Many people today including christians tend to be smart in their quest for wealth and money , not putting into consideration whether the path they chose for themselves is approved of God or not. The consequence is that when we kill, maim, cheat, slander, rob and assassinate other peoples’ reputation to succeed, we will unfailingly pay dearly for it in this life and in the life to come. (Proverbs 20:17; Rev. 21:8). Beloved, if you want to obtain the blessing of God that does not come with any trouble, obey God’s words and humble yourself before Him; then, expect his blessing and you will unfailingly receive it (Prov. 22:4; 8:18; 12:3).
