Verse Of The Day: And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.- Mark 1:35
LISTEN: The year 2016 is already gone, and we are about to begin another – 2017. This process will continue as long as the world would tarry. Sadly, many go through this life without having quality time with God, their creator. They do not have time to commune with Him in prayer, bible study, meditation, or other spiritual exercises.
They live their lives without regard for the will of God. They have little or no time for Him. Beloved, have you forgotten that you are human? That you are created by God and capable of dying? That you are nothing without Him? That you need to spend quality time with Him to experience the best of yourself? That failing to spend time with Him will amount to failing to fulfill your God-given purpose? My dear, let us be reasonable. No one is on this planet earth by chance, we all came by divine appointment.
We are here to fulfill God’s purpose. Anything short of that will amount to a waste of life on earth. Therefore, do not allow your business, relationships, academic, finances, family, etc to consume your time that you no longer have time for God. In the midst of your tight schedule, do not fail to make out quality time for your creator. Beloved, who could be busier than Jesus Christ while He was in the world? He worked round the clock (Acts 10 :38), yet had quality time to commune with God, His Father.
Our verse of the day says, “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” (Mark 1:35). Jesus Christ never failed to pray no matter His engagements, business, etc. He knows when to draw the line between His relationship with man and God. Where we read, told us how He woke up early in the morning to commune with God in prayer before going about the activities of the day. In another occasion, after attending to a crowd, He sent them away to enable Him commune with God. (Matthew 14 : 23).
Beloved, if the almighty Jesus Christ could not do without prayer and intimacy with God, does it not tell you that you cannot also do without prayer if you mean to fulfill God’s purpose for your life? Do not neglect to have time with God no matter what. Time with God will shape your future, correct your inordinate behaviour, direct your steps, warn you against evil, give you access to God, give your life a meaning, and draw to you many more blessings from God.
