Verse Of The Day: Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.- 1Corinthians 15 : 33
LISTEN: Do you know that if you are careless about self-examination and your relationship with people you will damage your good image? You might be a good person but you cannot sustain your goodness if you are not careful with the kind of people you relate with. When a good substance is mixed with a bad one the good one immediately get contaminated as a result of the bad one.
In our verse of the day, Apostle Paul warned the Corinthian church to avoid wrong association. The bible said, ” Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. (1Corinthians 15 : 33). This means that if you are not careful, evil people will influence you negatively and pull you away from the faith. They will introduce you to their evil ways and lead you away from your eternal purposes. Their mission in your relationship with them is to see you become like them in behaviour and reputation. For you not to be deceived and your good manners contaminated by anyone, you must have your foundation rooted in Christ.
The training you received as a Christian should be protected and preserved from contamination. You should rather be influenced positively by the faith you have in Christ. Such attitude will preserve and protect your good manners. Beloved, never allow anyone who has nothing good to contribute to your spiritual life to be part of your journey of life. Guard your heart jealously lest the devil invade it, contaminate it and subsequently destroy you. Never expose your heart to corrupt practices and wicked people. Do not forget that no matter how committed and faithful you are to God, your faith is still at risk if you keep the company of corrupt and wicked people. The tendency of human heart is evil. The world is wicked. Therefore, you need to be watchful.
Beloved, if you really serve God you cannot be comfortable hanging around wicked and corrupt people. The choice of bad company shows your inclination to evil. Such company is insinuating. It goes to tell what is on your mind. Do not forget that bad company will lower the tone of your morality and harden your heart; for what a man sow he will reap. (Galatians 6 : 7). Beloved, shun evil association and keep your life from contamination and destruction. (1Corinthians 6 : 9).
