Verse Of The Day: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.-Proverbs 4 : 7.

LISTEN : I have nothing if I lack wisdom. To be bankrupt of wisdom is to be empty of a lasting success. What you acquire can be kept by wisdom and could be lost by lack of it. To experience wisdom you must embrace knowledge. He who makes knowledge his delight has chosen to walk in the path of wisdom. However, until the knowledge acquired is rightly applied, it has failed the true sense of knowledge. Francis Bacon said, ” Knowledge is power. Knowledge rightly applied leads to a meaningful life.”

Similarly, Charlse Spurgeon said, ” Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool, so great a fool as a knowing fool.” Knowing how to use knowledge is to have wisdom. Beloved, let us pursue after knowledge and live in wisdom. Knowledge is an integral part of a successful life. No one who rejects knowledge attracts success. However, it is not enough to acquire knowledge; rather, the knowledge acquired should be rightly applied. Any knowledge which does not change the quality of life is useless and of questionable value. Beloved, it is your responsibility to seek and apply knowledge. Life could be miserable without it.

There are three important things you should know about wisdom: 1). There is no alternative to wisdom where excellence is the goal: (Proverbs 4 : 7). That is, when you are pursuing excellence in life, you have no choice than to seek and rightly apply knowledge. 2). Knowledge and wisdom does not come by wishes, they come by efforts (Proverbs 3 : 13 – 23). You must make effort to acquire knowledge and rightly apply it. 3). Our quest for knowledge and wisdom should begin with respect for our creator. True wisdom comes from God. Therefore, to have respect for Him will bless us with His kind of wisdom (Proverbs 9 : 10 ; James 3 : 17 , 18).

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Do not neglect knowledge, rather seek and endeavour to rightly apply it.
2. Do not wish for knowledge, rather go for it.
3. In your search for knowledge, acknowledge the creator – God, who is the only one that can truly give meaning to your life.
4. Always pray to God to guide you in your search for knowledge; and to help you to rightly apply the one you acquired.

Daily Task : Go for knowledge with all you have, and apply it with all diligence no matter what.

Daily Reflection : The height of wisdom is the fear of God. Knowledge is useless if it does not lead to the fear of God.

Daily Prayer : Almighty God, help me to rightly apply the knowledge I acquired over the years to the glory of your name, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Daily Prophetic Declaration : Today, I prophesy over your life, because you are created in the image of God you will not miss your purpose of existence. May God cause you to rightly apply your knowledge in Jesus’ name.
