Verse Of The Day: Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.- Romans 15 : 33
LISTEN: It is a waste of time, energy and resources to look for peace outside God. Unless God dwells in our hearts we cannot achieve lasting peace in our lives. The absence of God in our families, conversations, workplaces, communities, states, nations, etc is the result of endless crisis and commotion seen in the world today. Many communities, states and nations of the world had suffered losses from wars and crisis; and many others are currently going through same today. Properties worth of billions of dollar are being lost in the process.
Sadly, human lives are equally wasted in countless numbers. No one wants to accept reconciliation nor take responsibility for his or her actions. People are happy killing one another and destroying their nation’s economic life. No one wants to ask, why do we not have peace? Why are we fighting and killing ourselves? Why have we refused to embrace peace? What are we fighting for? Why are we destroying our communities, states and nations? What will we gain in the end? When we destroy our own, can we be happy and comfortable living in a strange land? If other communities, states or nations had destroyed their own, where will we have ran to? Beloved, if we can be sincere with ourselves, we will certainly realise that we need God.
Peace comes from God, not from wealth or achievements. In the abundance of wealth and achievements, still, there could be endless crisis and war. Lasting peace is God’s gift to those who acknowleges His sovereignty. Friend, are you in any form of crisis? Is your life negatively affected by internal and external crisis? Has peace left your life, family, community, state or nation? Call on the God of peace – Jehovah Shalom and embrace His word.
If His word abides in your heart, tolerating others and living in unity will not be a problem to you. Our verse of the day said, ” Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.” (Romans 15 : 33). Beloved, I want you to know that a life without God is a life without peace; and a life without peace is a miserable and tragic life. Do you need peace? Seek it in God and surrender to Him. (See Philippians 4 : 6 – 7 ; Romans 16 : 20).
