Verse Of The Day: Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:- Proverbs 22:24
LISTEN: He who comes close to fire will certainly catch its heat eventually. Similarly, a bosom friend of an angry man will not be innocent of wrath. Learn to choose who becomes your friend. Friendship can make or mar you. The kind of person you make your friend will determine how far you will go in life. Your commitment to such relationship will determine your success or failure. (1 Corinthians 15 : 33).
Friendship is good when you walk with the right person, but highly regrettable when you walk with the wrong person. No two person stays happily and successfully in their relationship if their lifestyles does not agree with each other. For friendship to be sustained, one must accept the other. Rejecting him or her will mean no friendship. Now it is obvious that one can be influenced by his or her friend(s), except where one does not value the friendship. The bible has variously warned us to be careful of who we accept as a friend.
Friendship is a choice, not a must. Therefore, make sure that no one deceive you into accepting a wrong and damaging relationship. Although, the scripture warns us of associating with bad people of all categories, but for the purpose of this lesson, we shall limit it to a person of wrath. Our verse of the day says, ” Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: (Proverbs 22:24). What does that mean? It means that from those with whom we associate we acquire habits, and learn their ways, imbibe their spirit, show their tempers and walk in their steps.
We cannot be too careful of our company, for we may soon learn ways that will be a snare to our soul. This means that you should have nothing to do with anyone whose heart is full of bitterness towards others and God. Someone whose interest and joy is in the miseries of others. The one whose desire is to endlessly seek revenge on his or her offenders. Someone who finds joy in seeing others destroyed and forgotten. Beloved, a person of wrath can be dangerous. He or she can kill, maim, destroy and do all manners of damage under such state. We must avoid such people at all cost, lest we learn their ways and be doomed like them. Beloved, be wise.
