Verse Of The Day: Deliver me from my distress; rescue me from my suffering!- Psalms 25 : 17 (NET)

LISTEN : It is a waste of time to put total confidence in man. Man is not God, therefore has the tendency to fail, disappoint, die, deceive, change, etc. Crying to man in times of trouble for help may fail, because that is the nature of man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

Beloved, are you going through some afflictions? Is your life full of pains, shame and sorrows? Are you relying on your connections, wealth, etc, to remedy the situation? They will all fail at some point. Rely on God. God knows your distresses and burdens, and your cry for deliverance. Yes! He knows that no one is immune to pains and sufferings, everyone at one point or the other taste a dose of it.

When trouble comes, it does appear like we are not going to come out of it. We often panic and miss what should be done. We are always too quick to forget God and go in search of alternative “solution” when our distress seem to increase. Beloved, if your distress increases, should your cry for deliverance not increase? God is a merciful and compassionate Father, His attentive ears are itching to hear your distress call – your prayers.

In our verse of the day, David in the midst of his afflictions cried and said, ” Deliver me from my distress; rescue me from my suffering”(Psalms 25:17). He cried out to God because the affliction was more than he could handle. And because he cried out to God He delivered him. David said, ” Surely he rescued me from all trouble, and I triumph over my enemies.(Psalms 54 : 7).

Beloved, are you in some form of danger or distress? Like David, call to the LORD today, and He will deliver you from the hands of your enemies.

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Do not bear your burdens alone, take it to the almighty God.
2. Always trust the LORD to deliver you from your troubles when you call.
3. Do not give up in times of trouble, rather hang on till God send help for you.
4. Never put absolute trust in man, because man can change, fail, die, disappoint, etc.

Daily Task: God cannot abandon or reject anyone who truly believe in Him, therefore make peace with Him and call out to him in your troubles.

Daily Reflection: Divine intervention destroys afflictions and procure deliverance. Pray for it.

Daily Prayer: Oh LORD, the mighty in battle! I ask for your mercies today, deliver me from the hands of my enemies, in Jesus‘ name, amen.

Daily Prophetic Declaration: By the mandate of God upon my life, I decree upon your life today, every enemy holding you hostage is hereby cast out, and your freedom restored to you, in Jesus’ name.
