Vesre Of The Day: Get up, for this matter concerns you. We are with you, so be strong and act decisively!” Ezra 10 : 4

LISTEN: Making a hard decision is tough, no one finds it funny because it involves a lot. Hard decision comes with a huge price. Obviously, it comes with a lot of sacrifice. It often comes with temporary loss of peace, sleep, joy and convenience. Most times, one’s relationship, association, business, career, etc are affected as a result of it. However, the good thing about it is that a hard decision is worth it. Taking a timely hard decision is for our good.

At some point in life, except certain decisions are made, life will be meaningless and miserable. Shying away from a hard decision will lead to forfeiture of our God-given purpose of existence. To Abraham, leaving his land, his father’s house and kindred to a place the LORD will show him was a hard decision to make. However, he made the decision because it was standing between him and his future blessing (Genesis 12 :1 -5).

Beloved, the situation that gave birth to our verse of the day was Israelites disobedience to the law of God prohibiting them from intermarriage with unbelieving nations. Unfortunately, when they went to exile they forgot the law of God and got involved with strange women and had children with them. Sadly, when they returned from exile, they realised how wayward they had been to God and wept bitterly.

They wept as they were faced with the hard decision to sent their unbelieving wives and children from those unions away. (Ezra 10 : 1 – 3). It was such a hard decision to make because it involved their families on one side, and their relationship with God on the other side. In our verse of the day Ezra and the rest of the people were urged to follow the will of God rather than theirs. The bible says, ” Get up, for this matter concerns you. We are with you, so be strong and act decisively!” (Ezra 10 : 4).

Beloved, like the Israelites, are you faced with a hard decision to make? is there a hard decision you should make today? Are you finding it difficult to take such decision? How long do you intend to wait or postpone it? Rise up and do it! Remember, if you refuse to take the needed hard decision(s) concerning any area of your life, you will certainly limit yourself forever.

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Never put off a necessary decision meant for today till tomorrow.
2. Do what you should do today to stop tomorrow’s avoidable disaster.
3. Be prepared to both pay the price and reap the benefits of a hard decision.
4. Examine your life thoroughly and make the decision that is needed to take you to where you should be in future.

Daily Task: Never forget that at some point, you will be needed to take some necessary hard decisions for your future. Do not neglect it, rather do it, for it is necessary.

Daily Reflection: He who neglect to make a hard decision needed for a blessed future, will certainly face a future full of emptiness and miseries.

Daily Prayer: Most high God, I thank you today for your love, help me to make right decisions, especially hard decisions necessary for a blessed future, in Jesus’ name.

Daily Prophetic Declaration: Today, I prophesy over your life, may God guide you to make right decisions regarding your future; may He guide you even when it involves making a hard decision, in Jesus’ name
