Verse Of The Day: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3 : 16
LISTEN: Beloved, do you know that God loves you? He loves you just the way you are even when others hate and despise you. You may have committed all manner of evils and atrocities, but God still loves you the way you are. There is no need to write off yourself because God has not written you off. I know that a lot of people reading this devotional who may have committed some kind of atrocities will wonder if God can ever forgive them. The answer is yes, He can.
Our verse of the day says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3 : 16). This means that God’s love is for the entire world. God loves everybody and desires to save them all. You are part of those God want to save. Are you a prostitute? God loves you and want to save you. Are you an idolater? A drunk? A thief or robber? An occultist? A kidnapper? A murderer? A cultist, etc. Whatever your crime is, God still loves you and want to save you.
God does not hate you, but sin. He does not want you to live in sin, die and go to hell; rather, He wants you to avoid sin and accept Jesus Christ His Son as your Lord and saviour. Jesus Christ came mainly for you, therefore, do not allow critics to talk you down and make you have a low opinion of yourself. When Jesus Christ was criticised for becoming a guest to Zachaeus whom they termed a sinner, He said, “For the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”(Luke 19 : 10). Beloved, every sinner is lost before God, because sin causes us to wander away from God, but Christ is out to seek and save those who turn to Him. (Romans 5 : 8).
Jesus Christ is out to seek and to save repentant sinners. His gospel is preached everywhere – in the church, market, radio, television, internet, etc therefore, do not reject it. Our verse of the day says, ” For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3 : 16). This means that God does not want you destroyed because He loves you. However, your choice of rejecting His love will put your life in danger of destruction. Beloved, do not reject Him, rather accept Him as your Lord and Saviour.
