Verse Of The Day: Why are you depressed, O my soul? Why are you upset? Wait for God! For I will again give thanks to my God for his saving intervention. Psalms 42 : 11
LISTEN: When we are depressed because of certain issues in our lives, we tend to see nothing good anymore in life. We tend to believe that all hope is lost; at such times, nothing seems to make sense to us anymore. We rather wish to die than stay alive to experience miseries and shame. But if you think deeply, you will realise that there is no reason to give up when you have issues that seem to take your life. All you should do is to acknowledge that God is able, and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. (1Corinthians 10 : 13).
Whatever may have happened, or is happening to you is not new to man. Many had gone through it, yet, had chosen to remain committed to their faith in God. Hope in God is what you need. Remember that the devil will not give up fighting you, therefore, you must not give up resisting him and pressing on. Never lose hope. Do not allow the devil steal your faith, because that is the only asset you have to God. Protect your faith and put your hope in God.
Do you know that when the devil attack what you have, he is not after those things but after your faith? When he attack your marriage, business, career, academic, family, ministry, finances, wealth, etc, it is not because he wants to marry your spouse from you, own your business, benefit from your career and academics; become a member of your family or ministry, or run your bank account for you. What he want is your faith. He believes that if he can attack what you have he would have attack your faith. Never give him such opportunity.
When King David was in trouble, it came to a point that he became depressed just as you are, because everything seem to be going against him; but he encouraged himself by believing that God will certainly see him through. In our verse of the day he said, ” Why are you depressed, O my soul? Why are you upset? Wait for God! For I will again give thanks to my God for his saving intervention.” (Psalms 42 : 11). He talked to himself and prevented himself from further depression. He believed to see divine intervention in his situation, and the Lord did intervened in his case.
Beloved, your case is not different from David’s, God has not given up on you, hope in Him and you will experience His grace. Cheer up! Help is coming for you.( Jeremiah 30 : 17).
