Author: Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day: And the gospel must first be published among all nations. Mark 13:10

LISTEN: Is the gospel of Christ, the message of the Kingdom of God really moving at the pace it should move today? Are believers in Christ really giving it the needed and urgent attention it requires? Have they (we) suddenly forgotten the ultimate command of Christ – to go into the world and preach the good news of the Kingdom of God? The bible says, ” Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28 : 19 , 20).

Beloved, have you lost sight of this great command of Jesus Christ? Why have you given your time, attention, energy, zeal, passion, etc., to spreading other messages other than the gospel of the Kingdom of God? Why have you given your interest to things that can satisfy you temporarily, and hurt you eternally? Why have you chosen to be a christian who is not willing and ready to make sacrifices? Why are you only after what God can do for you, and not after what you can do for Him? Do you know that he who must expect great things from God, should attempt great things for Him too?

It is so sad today that people (young and old), spread evil messages at the detriment of human lives and the message of the Kingdom of God. We should invest our time and resources in pursuing God’s purpose. The media, Internet, etc, has made it in such a way that one can be in his or her private, and still send out any information he or she wishes to give. It is so nice that you can connect the world from wherever you are today. Unfortunately, many corrupt minds uses this medium to perpetrate their evil and spread the news of the Kingdom of hell, instead of the good news of the kingdom of God.

Beloved, you do not have any excuse for not spreading the good news of Christ as directed. Even if you cannot travel physically to some paths of the world, yet, your words can do it for you. You have the Internet – Facebook, Twitter, etc., use them. Never use those medium to share pornographic images (movies, pictures, magazines. etc., that shows or describe naked people or sex in a very open and direct way in other to cause sexual excitement). Do not use the media and Internet to peddle rumours, blackmail others, commit fraud, and do other evils, instead use it to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Tell the world about Christ Jesus, those who care to hear will hear.

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Use the Facebook and other medium as means of spreading the gospel of Christ, and not evil.
2. Spread the gospel of Christ in your neighbourhood and to the world, via the Internet, etc.
3. Give your time, attention, energy, zeal, passion, etc., to spreading the gospel of the Kingdom of God?
4. Do not ignore this ultimate command of Christ, “Go into the world and preach the gospel.”

Daily Task: Do not use the media and Internet to peddle rumours, blackmail, commit fraud, and other evils, instead use it to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Daily Reflection: Those who give their interests and time, just to things that can satisfy them temporarily, will end up hurting themselves eternally.

Daily Prayer: Blessed Father, I thank you today for the gift of life, help me to live my life for your purpose, and to join in spreading the good news of your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Daily Prophetic Declaration: Today, I prophesy to your life, may God open your eyes to know and do His will. May you be part of the people reaching out to the world with the gospel of Christ. Therefore, may you not lose your reward, in Jesus’ name, amen.
