Verse Of The Day: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD. Psalms 31: 24
LISTEN: No one is created a coward, rather people make themselves cowardly. In all situations God want us to be courageous. No matter what we face, God want us to stir up courage and inner strength for every battle; that is, He want us to arouse or excite the feeling and passion of facing dangers and difficulties with firmness, fearlessness, boldness, resolution and without fainting of heart. Courage and inner strength are two things that characterises the determined.
Life is full of situations that often causes fear and heartbreak. However, the strong and courageous do not give in or give up no matter what. Their lives are operated by principles and standards. They always see countless ways to succeed in spite of frustrations, challenges, or threat to their progress. No one can achieve anything worthwhile without courage and inner strength to combat challenges. God want us to be strong and courageous, He does not want us to quit our God-given pursuit for any reason.
In life, fear may come, our lives may be threatened, we may have no one else left on our side, but courage can still procure for us the victory we so much desired. The Psalmist who spoke in this bible verse of the day was not a stranger to challenges, troubles, afflictions, trials and tribulations of life; he equally suffered what is common to man. However, he chose to be strong and courageous in spite of all the troubles. Having overcame, he realised that victory is possible to anyone who is courageous and full of faith.
What did the Psalmist, David did? In our verse of the day the bible says, ” Be of good courage, and he (God) shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD. (Psalms 31: 24). This simply means that you must determine to be strong and courageous. To be strong is to be of great moral power, state of firmness, or courage. In the other hand, to be courageous is to not be deterred by danger or pain; it is to be brave. These were the encouraging words of the Psalmist here, that we should possess moral power; remain firm and brave no matter what.
Yes, we should not be deter by pain or any form of danger because God is with us and will strengthen our hearts because we hope on Him. Beloved, success is not guaranteed where inner strength and courage are lacking. Courage is important to victory hence God said to Joshua, ” Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you anywhere you go. (Joshua 1:9).
Beloved, the presence of God with us is enough to keep us strong and courageous. The same God assured Joshua of His help and said, ” No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. I will be with you, just as I was with Moses. I will not leave you or forsake you.” (Joshua 1:5). Beloved, God is our hope. Let nothing deter you from pursuing your God-given purpose. Cheer up!
