Verse Of The Day: Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. Psalms 1 : 1 , 2

LISTEN: God loves the upright. They are his favourites. His blessings travels in the direction of the upright. God knows the upright and he is interested in blessing them. But who is the upright? The upright is one who always behave in an honest way: one who has high moral standards. One with the fear of God. One who has great reverence for God; one with a religious character and devoted to God. Beloved, God wants his people to be upright, for he desires to bless them.

Uprightness attracts the favour of God just as unrighteousness attracts his wrath. God is a good Father who will not hesitate to bless his obedient children. Uprightness and obedience to God are triggers of his blessings. The obedient and upright does not beg for God’s blessings, because it comes naturally to them. No upright and obedient child of God can be bankrupt of his blessings. If the blessing does not manifest now, it will certainly manifest later. God’s favour cannot pass us by when we genuinely strive to imitate Christ and become like Him in thought and action. ( See 1 Corinthians 11:1).

Beloved, uprightness is not a title, nor an award given to a long serving christian, but a state of conscious effort to always behave in an honest way with high moral standards and to live in the fear and knowledge of God. In our text of the day, the bible stated clearly what the upright does and things he or she does not do. The upright does not take ungodly counsel, advice, or suggestions from the wicked. He rejects every counsel that will not glorify God. Anything we do without the glory of God as the grand purpose is an effort in futility.

Beloved, determine to be upright. Do not align yourself with the wicked no matter what. It does not matter what you stand to gain or lose, never compromise your integrity. Make doing the will of God your delight, meditate on his word, and live your life totally to the will of God. My dear, just to remind you in case you have forgotten, it is not a waste of time to serve and revere God; nor is it a waste of time to always behave in an honest way with high moral standards. Remember,
Uprightness receives God’s approval. God bless you.
