Author: Bishop Julius Okarike
Verse Of The Day: Rest in the Lord wait patiently for him; fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass Psalms 37:7.
LISTEN: Let the thought of God’s goodness calm your troubled soul. Because when you feel abandoned and forsaken by God, you will certainly be frustrated, confused and depressed. It is wrong to think that God will abandon his own. Those whose knowledge are not deep in God thinks in this direction. They fail to acknowledge that God cannot forsake the faithful (Hebrew 13:5). No matter what happens, God promises his goodness to the righteous. (Isaiah 3:10). God cannot make a promise he cannot keep. So what he had promised he will perform.
Learning to Lean on him is the best thing a christian should do at a time when it seems nothing is working for him or her; though people may mock, criticise and give up on you, but you must not give up on God, nor envy the wicked who temporarily seem to prosper. It is definitely not going to last forever for God will certainly intervene. Do not worry yourself when others succeed and you seem not to be succeeding. God is watching your loyalty to him. He who is loyal to God cannot waste in the hands of the enemy. Loyalty to God equals divine security.
Beloved, it is no news today that people are desperate for wealth no matter how it comes. But you must not follow the wicked to pursue ill gotten wealth. The bible clearly states that the wealth of the wicked is reserved for ‘the wind’ (Pro.13:11). That is, their wealth will be their downfall and calamity. No one who is desperate for wealth will be innocent. No matter how bad your situation might be, do not despair; rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him. If you have done your part and nothing seems to be working, keep trusting God. Do not lose hope. Remember, when you lose hope you have sponsored your own defeat. Beware!
