Verse Of The Day: And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4 : 7
LISTEN: Absence of the peace of God in one’s life is the reason for personal crisis. Nothing can truly calm a troubled soul like the peace of God. God’s peace is not like the ‘peace’ of the world that comes from human achievements and possessions; when those possessions and achievements are gone, peace evaporates with them. But the peace of God is a mystery to those who do not know God. Because it is peace that surpasses all understanding. A kind of peace that calms the troubled soul in the midst of crisis. Peace that is not base on what we have, but on God who knows us better than ourselves.
Beloved, it is a waste of time to look for peace outside God. Nothing in this world – money, fame, academic qualifications, family, wealth, marriage, children, etc., can give you the God kind of peace. Most times, all those can be your sources of sadness when they are gone, but the peace of God can keep you strong and calm in the midst of adversities. However, unless God dwells in our hearts we cannot achieve lasting peace in our lives. The absence of God’s peace in our families, conversations, workplaces, communities, states, nations, etc., is the reason for endless crisis we are experiencing today. Properties and lives are lost everyday because people chose to abandon the peace of God.
Beloved, if we can be sincere to ourselves, we will certainly attest that we need God.
Peace comes from God, not from wealth or achievements. In the midst of wealth and achievements, there could still be endless crisis and war. Lasting peace is God’s gift to those who acknowleges His sovereignty. My dear, are you in any form of crisis? Is your life negatively affected by internal and external crisis? Has peace left your life, family, community, state or nation? Call on the God of peace. Cast your cares to him and his peace will guard your heart. I want you to know that a life without God is a life without peace; and a life without peace is a miserable life. Do you need peace? Seek it in God and surrender to Him. (See Philippians 4 : 6 – 7 ; Romans 16 : 20).
