Verse Of The Day: Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away. John 6: 37
LISTEN: The cross, the meeting place of God and man. Yes! The cross, the meeting place of the righteous God and sinful man. The cross, the place where the hope of humanity was restored and the eternal curse reversed. The cross, where condemned sinners were crucified became the place where the sinless Christ was ignorantly crucified too. The cross, where the hope of the righteous seemed to have ended by reason of Christ’s death, eventually became the place the hope of the righteous and all believers formally began. The cross of calvary, to the world is a place of shame and death, but to the believers in Christ it is a place of glory and life. Christ on the cross is the hope of eternal life.
We are united with God through the death of Christ. The cross is the power of God unto salvation. (1 Corinthians 1 : 18). Through Christ by the power of the gospel, God has come to call sinners from all parts of the world to embrace Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. His invitation is to everyone – young and old, small and great; black and white, rich and poor, famous and infamous, learned and self- taught, literate and illiterate, etc. We are now one family through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. One Lord, one faith, one baptism. (Ephesians 4 : 5). We are no more strangers to God. We are members of his saved family. The bible says, ” But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”(John 1 : 12).
Beloved, I want you to know that God’s arm is opened to us through the cross. Jesus Christ through his death has reconciled us to God. He whom Christ has received no one can cause to be rejected. My dear, no matter how you are – sinful, heartbroken, abandoned, rejected, convicted, frustrated, confused, guilty, come to Christ he will forgive you and give you hope. Our verse of the day said, “Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away.”(John 6 : 37). Christ’s promise is that anyone who comes to him he will not cast away. What a wonderful promise! So no matter who you are, or what you have done, come to God today through Jesus Christ.
