Verse Of The Day: The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; Psalms 92 : 12 – 14.

LISTEN: To flourish is to thrive; it is to achieve success: to be healthy: to be very successful : it is to do very well. Success is not just about how much money you have, your popularity, academic qualifications, power or influence, but about fulfilling the very good purpose why God created you. True success is in doing the will of God even in troubles and temptations. The bible says this about Joseph, the betrayed slave boy; ” And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down there. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.”(Genesis 39 : 1 – 3 KJV). Joseph was not hindered by betrayal as designed by his brothers, but became successful by God’s mighty hand through faithfulness.

Anyone can claim to be successful, but obviously true success comes from God. It is a function of his presence in a person’s life. The bible recorded that Joseph was successful though a slave in the house of Potiphar his master because God was with him. God with you is the key to true success. No matter what you have, or have achieved, if God is not the reason and at the center of your achievements and “successes” you have failed in your purpose of existence. But those who faithfully serve God shall truly flourish in his presence. God had already declared overflowing success and blessings for them when he said, “They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.”(Psalms 92 : 14). This means that their blessings will go beyond this world to eternity. Beloved, no matter the situation you find yourself, determine to abide in the Lord. Always place a high value on him and he will honour you and not put you to shame. Remember, without him you can do nothing (John 15 : 4 – 7).
