Verse Of The Day: They saw him afar off, and before he came near to them, they conspired against him to kill him. They said one to another, “Behold, this dreamer comes. Come now therefore, and let’s kill him, and cast him into one of the pits, and we will say, ‘An evil animal has devoured him.’ We will see what will become of his dreams.” Genesis 37 : 18 – 20

LISTEN: Virtually everything comes with a price, and that does not exclude being loved and special. To be special is to be unique: to be different from what is normal or usual; it means to be unusual in a good way : to be better or more important than others: it means to be loved. Besides, to be special is to be distinguished by some unusual quality; to be held in particular esteem, and to be readily distinguishable from others of the same category. Everyone is created to be unique, and that is what set you apart from all others. Most times, your being special is often the source of your troubles. When you possess some unusual good qualities over others, you are certainly going to attract hatred and envy from them. When you are perceived as having a promising future you will become the people’s target of conspiracy, betrayal, gossip, hate, blackmail, etc.

Joseph was a special person in the midst of eleven brothers. His father loved him so much that his brothers noticed it. The bible says, ” Now Israel (Jacob) loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age, and he made him a coat of many colors. His brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, and they hated him, and could not speak peaceably to him.” (Genesis 37 : 3 , 4). Like Joseph, when you are favoured you become an object of conspiracy, hate and betrayal. Joseph’s problems compounded when his jealous brothers discovered that he has a more glorious future than themselves. The bible says, ” Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him all the more.”(Genesis 37 : 5). Beloved, do you have a dream for a glorious future? A dream of becoming a person of honour? Be careful, because there are dream killers everywhere who will not want you to realise your dreams. However, if you trust God no one can kill your dream.
