Verse Of The Day: The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27 : 1
LISTEN: Those that trust in God are never intimidated by the devil or his human agents. They are hidden under the mighty “wings” of God. The Lord is their light and salvation. God as light represents divine direction, guidance, insight, revelation, etc. And he (God) as salvation stands for deliverance, protection and preservation. Those who truly trust him cannot be bankrupt of divine direction, insights, guidance, protection and deliverance. The righteous are not afraid of any evil because they knows that fear is a major weapon in the hands of the devil. Satan uses fear to empty people of their strength and position them for destruction. He often destroy even the most courageous by the same instrument of fear by keeping him or her in doubt of the help of God in times of trouble. But we must not forget that we are not alone, and that the LORD cannot abandon his people no matter the circumstance?
We believers in Christ are not expected or permitted to live in fear but faith. We should fight our fears through faith in Christ Jesus. The Spirit we received from God is of love, power and sound mind. It is an error for a lion to live in fear of a goat. To live in fear of the devil is to demean the power and sovereignty of God. God is greater than what appears to be greater than us, therefore we should not fear. The bible says, “You are from God…and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4 : 4). Beloved, stop being afraid of evil. Do not surrender to satanic intimidations, rather hold unto your faith. God has not ceased to answer prayers, certainly he will answer you. No matter the challenge or situation, like David in our verse of the day, let us choose to think and act differently. David acknowledged his troubles, but believed on God’s grace and help. God divinely manipulated all in his favour. Therefore, let us be courageous no matter the threats to our lives. Beloved, anytime you are afraid, learn to put your trust in God. (Psalms 56 3).
