Verse Of The Day: Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.” And again, “The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.” 1Corinthians 3 : 18 – 20
LISTEN: I guess you might be wondering why your wisdom should be in doubt, right! But if you will relax and read through this piece you will discover some hidden truth in this message. I know that no one want to be qualified as a fool, but most times we unconsciously do things that may project us as people who lack wisdom. Most often we regard people as fools simply because we have issues with them, or they failed to do certain things that are expected of them. But are they really fools as we claim? We are quick to qualify others as fools, but in our own case, no matter what we do, we see ourselves as wiser than others. But are we really wise? How do you measure actual folly and wisdom? Beloved, our assessment of wisdom and folly is quite different from God’s own assessment. A lot of people we see as wise are not wise before God. In the same way, most of the people we see as fools are not fools indeed. God judges our level of wisdom and folly by what we do with our lives as it concerns His purpose for our lives. He measures our wisdom and folly by what we live for. Beloved, what are you living for? No doubt, people have different things they live for. People live for things like: money, family, education, career, business, pleasure, marriage, children, wealth, fame, popularity, power, etc., only few persons are living for the purpose of God for their lives.
Beloved, there is no wisdom in living outside the will of God. (Proverbs 28 : 26). There is no real success in living outside his purpose for your life. Where God is absent, no “wisdom or success” gained is worth it. God sees the one who does not have respect for his will as a fool marked for destruction. It does not matter if that person is seen by men as the most successful and wise. God’s assessment and judgment supersedes that of man. Beloved, do not be deceived. Our verse of the day says, ” Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.” And again, “The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.” (1Corinthians 3 : 18 – 20). I know you may ask, “How can I become a fool in this world to be wise before God?” The answer is simple, follow the will of God for your life and do not insist on your own will. Do not resist God, rather surrender to him. Keep yourself from evil and follow after righteousness. Hate what God hates and love what he loves. Do not delight in living to please yourself, rather determine to please God. Let Christ be what you are living for, that is how to be “foolish” to be wise.
