Verse Of The Day: …if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it. Psalms 62 : 10
LISTEN: Wealth is good and makes the heart happy. Besides, it gives confidence, solve a lot of problems, saves from financial stress, provide us with our needs, etc. There is a whole lot more wealth can do, but wealth without wisdom is wealth without God; and wealth without God is wealth without meaning. Wealth is designed to serve the purposes of God. It is designed to draw us closer to God and not push us away from him. Wealth belongs to God, because we all belong to him. Though the devil may counterfeit wealth, yet it does not mean that he is the source of wealth. The Bible says, ” The LORD owns the earth and all it contains, the world and all who live in it.” (Psalms 24 : 1). However, lack of wisdom and understanding about life and wealth has made many to transfer their love, honour, loyalty, faithfulness, commitment from God to wealth. They misplaced their priority because of bankruptcy of wisdom.
Beloved, wealth is good no doubt. God is pleased when his people live in prosperity. (Psalms 35 : 27). But we break his heart when we fail to use our wealth to the glory of his name. No matter what you have, you have nothing without wisdom. No matter how full you are, you are empty without wisdom. No matter how rich you are, you are poor and miserable without wisdom. Wisdom is the principal thing. The Bible says, ” Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.”(Proverbs 4 : 7). This verse explains the reason why wealth without wisdom is nothing. Reasonable people does not attach themselves to their wealth because they know that wealth is temporary and limited in importance. The Bible says, ” For wisdom provides protection, just as money provides protection. But the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves the life of its owner.” (Eccles 7 : 12). Beloved, with wisdom you can make your wealth work for you in this life and in eternity. Therefore, determine to serve God and others with your wealth, time and talents. Remember, if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it. God bless you.
