Verse Of The Day: And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. Genesis 39 : 2
LISTEN: Everyone on earth is born for a purpose or purposes as the case may be. No one is born empty of God’s gifts and endowments. ( Genesis 1 : 28 ; James 1 : 17). We all are created with special abilities to fulfill the purpose why we were born. It does not matter where you were born, your background, your colour, size or shape. What is important is that you were not born empty, but with special abilities to fulfill your God-given purpose. (Proverbs 18 : 16). This simply means that success is possible. No matter the condition you find yourself right now, success is possible. In our verse of the day, we read that Joseph, a slave boy who should be misery because of his status as a slave was rather prosperous in his master’s house. The Bible says, “And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.” (Genesis 39 : 2). But is it possible to be in his condition and still be successful? Yes it is.
Success is not just the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame, but becoming and fulfilling what you were created for. We succeed when we take the talents and opportunities God gives us and make the most of them. The Late John Wooden, a committed Christian who became the most successful college basketball coach in history, was asked how he would define success. He replied, “Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of the self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming”. God created us with certain abilities. This means that we are capable of becoming the best we were born to be. Beloved, how will you define success? Joseph would define success as finding peace with himself by fulfilling his God-given purpose in spite of all oppositions and circumstances. Though he was a slave boy yet was prosperous because he followed the purpose of God for his life. Beloved, it is up to you to accept or not accept that success is possible. Remember, success is possible.
