Verse Of The Day: He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3 : 30
LISTEN: Our flesh will not cease to oppose to the ways of God until we have fully surrendered to God. The flesh will want to dictate to you what you should do as opposed to what God wants you to do. However, the day you surrender to God will mark the beginning of your success. No one excel by resisting God. We become happier and fulfilling in life when we yield to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and allow Him and His agenda to tower ours. Sadly, most people have no business with humility and obedience to God. They seek their fame, popularity, influence, power, wealth, honour, authority, etc., and not of God. They are interested in their own interests and agenda and makes God’s interests and opinions secondary. Worst of all, in some churches today, the church leaders are no more pointing their congregation to God but to themselves. The people no longer see God but their General Overseers and pastors. When a congregation no longer see God but their leaders, they will soon begin to see nothing wrong with the devil. Beloved, we should learn to shift the people’s attention away from ourselves to God (Hebrews 12 : 2).
John the Baptist is one of the examples of a good leader and obedient servant of God. When his disciples came and narrated to him how they saw Jesus Christ baptising people in Jordan river and people flocking to him to be baptised instead of John.(John 3 : 26). The Bible says, “And this was John’s answer: A man is unable to have anything if it is not given to him from heaven. You yourselves give witness that I said, I am not the Christ. What I said was, I am sent before the Christ. He who has the bride is the husband: but the husband’s friend, whose place is by his side and whose ears are open to him, is full of joy because of the husband’s voice: such is my joy, and it is complete. He has to become greater while I become less.”(John 3 : 27 – 30). John spoke to promote the cause of Christ. He said clearly to his disciples, ” He (Christ) must increase, but I (John) must decrease. (John 3 : 30). Beloved, are you letting Christ Jesus increase or you are letting Him decrease in your life? Until Christ and His cause are made to increase and succeed in our lives, we might be deceiving ourselves with a false claim of true worship. When you decreased Jesus Christ and His agenda to increase yours, you will soon discover that you failed from the moment you chose to abandon God to something else. Think about it.
Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Determine to support God’s agenda and He will support yours.
2. Allow Jesus to keep increasing in your life, and yourself decreasing to His own glory.
3. Do not draw unnecessary attention to yourself, instead draw attention to God.
4. Yield yourself completely to God and perform your God-given assignments with humility.

Daily Prophetic Declaration: Because wise people do not lightly esteem the Almighty God. Therefore, I speak to your life, may God give you grace to allow His Spirit increase daily in your life. May the purpose of God be your purpose henceforth, in Jesus’ name.
