Verse Of The Day: Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. Psalms 1 : 1 , 2

LISTEN: What does the bible mean to you? A book just for religious people? A book put together by some folks for their selfish interest, right? But is the bible a book just for religious people as some claims? Of course not! The Bible is the book of wisdom. It is not a book just for religious people but for wise people. (2 Timothy 3 : 15 , 16). The Bible is the word of God for mankind’s good welfare. Wise people lay the foundations of their lives on God’s word. God is the author of wisdom, hence no one can claim to be truly wise if he or she is not made wise by God’s word. God’s word (the bible) contains specific instructions about all areas of life. Besides, the bible teaches us the ways of God and how we can have a relationship with Him through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. The Bible, the word of God is the pathway to true happiness in life. Life could be miserable without directions from the word of God. Those who undermine the word of God undermines their own happiness and wellbeing.

In our verse of the day the bible says, “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night.” (Psalms 1 : 1 , 2). The word blessed is synonymous with happy or happiness. Obedience to God’s word is key to true happiness. The lives of those who have no respect for God’s word is marked with miseries. This is why someone might be rich and appears healthy and okay, yet miserable. Life becomes miserable when certain biblical principles are undermined and ignored. However, to find true happiness you should value God’s word. Our verse of the day tells us what to do to enjoy a blissful life. We are warned to not heed ungodly counsels, lead a sinful life, or behave irreverently to God. Besides, we are equally encouraged to find joy in the word of God, study and meditate it day and night. Until we are comfortable with God’s word we cannot enjoy real life. Remember, the bible is not just for religious people, but for wise people. So be wise and study the bible! God bless you.
