Verse Of The Day: You must put away every kind of bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and evil, slanderous talk. Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you. Ephesians 4 : 31 , 32
LISTEN: Peace and unity are two virtue that no right thinking family, society, generation or organisation that wants to move forward can afford to lose. Without harmonious relationship and oneness with others, building a progressive society will be practical impossible. Lack of peace and unity among people is a pathway to misery, frustration, confusion, destruction, death and all manners of misfortunes. God’s plan for man was not to be empty of peace in any area of life, but to have it in abundance. Beloved, God wants you to enjoy peace both with yourself and with others. Peace and unity are the foundations for progress and development. No society or organisation can be stable without peace and unity. Absence of both can cripple the economic life of the people, hinder development, and subsequently cause suffering and death in the land. Beloved, peace and unity ought to be desired by every wise-hearted person. Why people hurt and kill themselves is because the ways of peace and unity are rejected.
However, to truly live in peace and unity with people, you must heed specific instructions from the word of God regarding your relationship with others. There are certain behaviours that could hinder peace and unity amongst people; hence the word of God commands us to resist them. Our verse of the day says, ” You must put away every kind of bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and evil, slanderous talk. Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.” (Ephesians 4 : 31 , 32). My dear, where these ungodly behaviours or lifestyles mentioned above are present, life could be miserable. No one can be full of unforgiving spirit, full of bitterness, anger, wrath and evil thoughts towards others and still find peace with others. It is until those bad lifestyles are dropped for Christ’ sake that peace and unity could be embraced. Beloved, no matter what happens, learn to live in peace and unity with others.
