Verse Of The Day: And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. Mark 1:35
LISTEN: Prayer is our meeting time with our heavenly Father. We commune and communicate with Him through prayer. However, no one can truly pray to God and expect answers if there is no heart for prayer. Having a heart for prayer will produce a prayer from the heart; and prayer from the heart will produce the results you desire. Prayer is one of the ways we spend time with God. Time spent with God is a quality and worthwhile investment. Time with God can never be lost or wasted. Sadly, many people spend their lives daily without having time with God in prayer. They do not have time to commune with Him in prayer, personal bible study, meditation, etc. They have no regard for the will of God. They have little or no time for Him. They seem to have forgotten that we are humans? And that we are created by God, and capable of dying? They forgot the fact that we are nothing without God? That we need to spend quality time with Him to be able to make the most of our lives? Beloved, do you know that failing to spend time with God will hamper the fulfilling of your God-given purpose? Let us not forget that we are on earth to fulfill God’s purpose. Therefore, do not allow your business, relationship, academic pursuit, finances, family, etc. to come between you and your God. In the midst of your tight schedule, do not fail to make out quality time for God.
No matter how busy you are, always have time with God in prayers. Who could be busier than Jesus Christ while He was in the world? He worked round the clock (Acts 10 :38), yet had quality time with God in prayer. Our verse of the day says this about Him, “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” (Mark 1:35). My dear, Jesus Christ never failed or neglected to pray no matter His engagements, business, etc. He knows when to draw the line between His relationship with man and God. Where we read, tells us how He woke up early in the morning to commune with God in prayer before going about the activities of the day. In another occasion, after attending to a crowd, He sent them away to enable Him commune with God. (Matthew 14 : 23). Beloved, how much time do you have for prayer? If Jesus Christ could not do without praying to God, does that not tell you that if you must maintain a good relationship with God, you cannot do without prayer? Beloved, never neglect to have time with God in prayer no matter what. Time with God will shape your future, correct your inordinate behaviours, direct your steps, warn you against evil, give you access to God, give your life a meaning and save your soul. So determine to cultivate a heart for prayer.
