Verse Of The Day: Herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; so shall you be my disciples. John 15 : 8
LISTEN: I hope you might be wondering and possibly asking, “What exactly is it that could glorify God and make Him happy in my life?” What is that thing He wants me to do to truly identify with Him as His true disciple?. That special thing He wants you to do to glorify Him with your life is to bear fruits for Him. Do you know that God is glorified when you bear fruits? The word glorified means, to be honoured. We honour God when we bear much fruit. God wants us to be fruitful in good works; faithful, zealous, humble, devoted, and always abounding in the work of the Lord. These are things that honors God. Why is God honoured when we bear fruits? Why is He happy when we follow His will for our lives? He is honoured with it because, it shows the excellence of his commandment which requires it. God is glorified when we bear fruits because it also shows the power of His gospel, and of that grace which can overcome the evil tendencies of the heart. You know that the human heart is evil, but when you bear fruits of good works in spite of the badness of the heart, God is glorified. Besides, God is honoured when we bear fruits because the believer is restored to the divine image, and it shows how excellent is the character after which we are formed.
Bearing good fruits makes us look like our God, and the world sees that the divine administration of God is to make us holy; to produce in us that which is lovely, and true, and honest, and of good report. (Mat 7:20; Phi 4:8). When these good fruits are produced in us, we can be permitted to be Christ’ disciples. Fruit bearing in discipleship is a true test of character. It is not by profession, but by a holy life, demonstrating the christlike character in us. Not everyone is a follower of Jesus Christ, but those who bear much fruit in line with His purpose. This is why Jesus came to save us and to excite us to do much good, and to call forth all our strength, and time, and talents in His work and service. Beloved, do not be a Christian whose intention is not to do much good, and who does not devote to God all that he has in an honest effort to glorify His name, and to benefit this dying world. Today, let us determine to bear fruits with the gospel of Jesus Christ. God bless you.
